Excel Introduction (all versions)

The skills and knowledge covered in this course are sufficient to enable the user to create and edit basic Excel worksheets and workbooks.

It assumes the user has little or no prior knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • create a basic worksheet
  • modify a worksheet
  • perform calculations
  • format a worksheet
  • develop a workbook
  • print the contents of a workbook
  • customise the layout of the Excel window 

Excel Intermediate (all versions)

The skills and knowledge covered in this course will enable the user to streamline repetitive tasks and display spreadsheets with templates, charts, graphics, and formulas data in more visually effective ways.   Additionally, users will gain the skills necessary to create templates, sort and filter data, import and export data, analyse data and work with Excel on the web.

It is assumed that the user will know how to create and save a workbook, enter simple formulas, and perform simple formatting of the data.

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • create and apply templates
  • create and modify charts
  • work with graphic objects
  • calculate with advanced formulas
  • sort and filter data
  • use Excel with the Web 

Excel Advanced (all versions)

You may have used Excel to perform tasks such as running calculations on data and sorting and filtering numeric data. In this course, you will extend your knowledge into some of the more specialised and advanced capabilities of Excel.

The skills and knowledge covered in this course will enable the user to automate some common Excel tasks through Macros and apply advanced analysis techniques to more complex data sets, collaborate on worksheets with others and share Excel data with other applications.

It assumes the user has good prior knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Customise workbooks
  • Collaborate with others using workbooks
  • Audit worksheets
  • Analyse data
  • Work with multiple workbooks
  • Import and export data
  • Structure workbooks
